Corey Strong Announces his Campaign for Congress with Promise to
Put Memphis and District Back on the Map”
Today, Corey Strong proudly announces the official launch of his campaign for Congress in TN-09. A military, education and civic leader, Corey is driven by a passion for community and dedicated to bringing a long-term solution to the crime, poverty, and blight that have plagued constituents for decades. “As our local leaders continue to courageously grapple with crime, the congressman has a key role to play in reducing crime. The violence we are seeing in Memphis is akin to what I have seen in other countries around the world—young people who are expressing their hopelessness through violence. You can’t police your way out of this violence. The only solution is real opportunity, and the constituents deserve a congressman who is committed to bringing hope and opportunity at scale”
Under the campaign slogan, “Putting Memphis and the District Back on the Map,” Corey will bring his global experience and vision to promote exposure and growth for the region. “Memphis is a global city with a legacy of making global impact. The future economy of this country will be driven by the South, and I am committed to ensuring that this district continues her legacy by becoming a primary economic driver for this region and this nation.”
Key priorities for his campaign are attracting industry, expanding infrastructure, and educating the local workforce, which he sees as keys elements to getting the district back on track. He wants to focus his efforts in D.C. on promoting the exceptional qualities of TN-09 for government funding and private investment. “The big economic decisions are made in D.C. This district has every advantage any industry or federal department could want, including a motivated workforce. When you send me to Congress, you are sending someone who will tell our story and ensure Memphis gets what she needs. You are sending someone who is going to fight for our resources.”
